Documentation & Preservation
Documentation and Preservation at Wrth aims to safeguard Saudi Arabia's cultural heritage. The department enriches the institute's inventory and records by carefully documenting elements, origins, and artifacts in line with international best practices and procedures.
The remit of the Documentation and Preservation is to:
- Meet the diverse needs of learners by providing reliable resources for researchers to understand and study developments in the artistic and craft fields through research and documentation methodologies of practices, origins, and artifacts.
- Contributing to the provision of comprehensive information on the cultural value of traditional arts, handicrafts, their practices, methods, and origins through documentary outputs and historical and artistic artifacts to support educational objectives.
- Documenting and recording knowledge related to cultural heritage, crafts, and their history through distinguished research and documentation projects that enhance cross-cultural communication, contribute to cultural exchange, and support the transfer of knowledge to students and local communities.
- Enabling access to books, research, and documents on cultural elements and assets within the scope of traditional arts and crafts, through Wrth Library.
