The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth) Unveils its Strategic Framework

The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth) held a prestigious ceremony on February 13, 2024, to unveil its reimagined strategic framework. Distinguished guests, including Dr. Suzan Al Yahya, CEO of Wrth; esteemed members of the Board of Trustees; dignitaries; media representatives; cultural heritage experts; and Institute staff, gathered for the momentous occasion.

The ceremony commenced with a captivating visual presentation outlining Wrth's strategic thrust. Anchored in a clearly articulated vision, mission, and values, the presentation delineated five fundamental pillars underpinning twelve tangible and outcome-oriented objectives. These pillars focus on enabling national capabilities, preserving well-established traditional art forms, celebrating Saudi traditional arts, enabling career empowerment and entrepreneurship, and fostering excellence in organizational empowerment. 

In her keynote address, Dr. Al Yahya emphasized The Royal Institute's strategic alignment with the Kingdom's transformative Vision 2030, which prioritizes human development across all sectors. She underscored Wrth's pivotal role in safeguarding traditional arts thar connect every Saudi through its legacy, diverse heritage, and promote its national identity.

Dr. Al Yahya further announced the upcoming activation of diverse academic programs encompassing traditional visual and performing arts, museum and cultural heritage studies, alongside specialized programs envisioned for the future. This strategic initiative aims to chart a luminous future for passionate students and artisans within the realm of Saudi traditional arts.

Wrth's strategic vision aspires to cultivate "We envision a future where Saudi Arabia’s rich heritage of traditional arts flourish both locally and internationally." Its mission statement declares the Royal institute's commitment to "To enable the traditional arts sector in the Kingdom by providing quality educational, cultural and community programs, and promoting rigorous research, documentation, and innovation for a vibrant and sustainable market."
