The Royal Institute for Traditional Arts is participating in the 93rd Saudi National Day with a range of artworks, projects, activations, and contributions that align with its core objectives in supporting living treasures, providing training and, education to promote traditional arts.
The contributions include the Saudi artist Saud Al-Najem, who crafted and prepared the artistic pottery cups for “Candle of the Nation," which was presented as luxury gifts in partnership with a prominent global brand. These candles express traditional patterns from different regions of the Kingdom, such as Al Qatt Al Asiri, Al Sadu, and Hassawi gypsum engravings.
Furthermore, the Royal Institute actively engaged in family and children-oriented activities at its Jeddah Branch, located within historic Jeddah (Al Balad), in partnership with the Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts. This collaborative effort featured a range of specialized workshops designed to cater to the local community. These workshops encompassed topics such as the art of drawing and coloring intricate geometric patterns, as well as hands-on craft sessions focused on manjour and parquetry, providing participants with an immersive experience in the rich woodcarving traditions of Al Balad.
On this occasion, the CEO of the Royal Institute for Traditional Arts, Dr. Suzan Al-Yahya, extended her warmest congratulations and sincere greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, on the 93rd Saudi National Day. This day is a reminder of the remarkable excellence we are privileged to experience across all domains, a blessing for which we are profoundly grateful to God.
Dr. Suzan also highlighted the rich and diverse traditional artistic heritage that reflects Saudi Arabia's cultural richness and the Kingdom's ongoing support for traditional art and culture, under the unlimited support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and the Vision 2030.
