October 5th marks a significant date every year, celebrating #TeachersDay, a day dedicated to honoring the efforts and contributions of the pioneers of this noble profession. This day highlights the profound mission of teaching, aiming to elevate humanity across various fields of life and branches of knowledge. It reinforces the vital messages that only teachers are entrusted to deliver—a profession deeply rooted in history, unaffected by the changes of life and the rapid pace of events. Instead, teaching has expanded, adapting to modern needs and demands, continuously evolving to meet the challenges of our time.

This special day emphasizes the importance of education and its pivotal role in passing down knowledge from generation to generation. It also underscores the responsibilities teachers bear in preserving, nurturing, and advancing knowledge to create strong nations built on solid foundations of wisdom and continuous progress. Through this, they help shape the promising future that nations and societies aspire to reach.

Just as individuals strive to enrich their understanding of theoretical knowledge and natural sciences, they also recognize the value of learning applied arts. These arts fuel the creative spirit, allowing individuals to appreciate and experience the beauty in their environment. Mastering these skills nurtures innovation and change, playing a crucial role in raising awareness and enhancing the mental and emotional well-being of both individuals and communities.

Given the central importance of education and the influential role of teachers, Wrth: the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts has been dedicated to teaching Saudi traditional arts since 2021. Over this period, “Wrth” has offered a total of 340 educational and training programs across various branches and specializations of traditional arts and cultural heritage. These programs were delivered by 353 male and female trainers, supervised by 164 expert artisans in Saudi traditional arts, reaching a total of 3,602 beneficiaries from all regions of the Kingdom.

“Wrth’s” educational and training efforts stem from a belief in the importance of education and its role in preserving the nation’s artistic heritage, from traditional crafts to cultural treasures passed down through generations. By teaching ambitious talents, “Wrth” ensures that these authentic arts—deeply rooted in historical and civilizational values—continue to embody a proud national identity. This guarantees the sustainability, growth, and development of these heritage practices, nurtured by local experts we are proud to empower and support.
