About the course
This course is a unique opportunity to explore and document the cultural memory of local communities, with an emphasis on Saudi identity and social history. Combining specialized lectures with practical field applications, participants will get hands-on training in the latest methodologies and techniques for identifying and recording elements of intangible cultural heritage.
This program is designed to introduce juniors to Thuluth calligraphy and its history in an engaging way, highlighting the master calligraphers who excelled in this art. Participants will learn the fundamentals of writing and connecting letters, practice imitating classical models, and develop their artistic skills step-by-step.
Outcomes
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Identify Thuluth calligraphy and its historical significance.
- Distinguish calligraphy tools and use them correctly and safely.
- Produce a calligraphic artwork in Thuluth script.
Entry requirements
- This course is open to individuals aged 13 to 17 years old.
