About the course
Traditional mud plastering is one of the fundamental and heritage techniques associated with earthen architecture and mud brick construction. Known for its sustainable environmental properties, thermal insulation, and ability to protect wall surfaces, mud plastering plays a pivotal role in highlighting local architectural identity.
This short-term training program aims to introduce participants to the fundamental principles of pre-wetting and mud plastering, as well as the essential technical foundations and guidelines that support this art. The course heavily emphasizes hands-on learning and practical application. Participants will engage in direct exercises including preparing the clay mixture, treating wall surfaces, and applying mud plaster, while allowing space for artistic experimentation and skill development tailored to each participant's individual approach.
