About this course
The Rammed Earth Technique course is a practice-oriented training program designed to introduce one of the earthen construction methods associated with traditional architecture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The program focuses on equipping participants with the fundamental knowledge and introductory skills required to apply rammed earth techniques, while highlighting their functional and environmental significance, as well as their role in shaping sustainable built environments.
Throughout the program, participants are introduced to the composition of soil mixtures used in rammed earth construction, methods of preparation, and the procedures for formwork setup and proper compaction techniques. This is complemented by practical exercises involving the production of a rammed earth block using various materials.

Outcomes
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Identify the essential components of soil mixtures used in Rammed Earth construction.
- Understand the specific function of each component within the soil mixture.
- Prepare the Rammed Earth mixture according to specified ratios and technical standards.
- Execute the process of compacting earth within the formwork using appropriate tools.
