About this course

This program is a strategic initiative designed to develop the capabilities of trainers in the field of traditional arts. It ensures the transfer of heritage skills and knowledge using modern educational methods that contribute to the sustainability of crafts and the revival of cultural heritage. The program focuses on empowering participants to effectively design and implement training programs by merging artisanal craftsmanship with contemporary educational techniques.

Throughout the program, participants will engage in an interactive experience that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application. They will learn presentation and communication skills, training methodologies, and the fundamentals of planning and managing training programs according to high-quality standards. By the end of the program, participants will be able to prepare and execute integrated training programs in traditional arts, effectively utilizing both theoretical and practical teaching methods to inspire creativity and empower the next generation of Saudi artisans.

Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Define the concept of training and its importance in developing artisans and effectively transferring knowledge.
  • Identify effective communication and positive interaction methods between the trainer and trainees within a craft-based training environment.
  • Apply strategies for presentation, public speaking, and practical guidance during training sessions.
  • Design a mini-training plan that includes objectives, procedural steps, and evaluation criteria specific to a craft.
  • Evaluate their own performance and that of their peers in a training environment, utilizing feedback to improve their training practices.

Entry requirements

  • This course is open to all community members aged 18 years and above, who have a high school diploma or higher accreditation.
  • Applicants must have prior experience in handicrafts and traditional arts, either through professional practice or previous training.
  • Applicants must have previously enrolled in a program offered by the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth).
