About the course

The Saudi Majlis is one of the most prominent social and cultural traditions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Throughout history, it has served as a space for sharing knowledge, strengthening social bonds, and passing down values and customs across generations. Through the Majlis, traditions of hospitality, respect for elders, effective communication, and attentive listening have been preserved, reflecting the Kingdom’s cultural identity and rich heritage.

Throughout this program, participants will explore the culture and etiquette of the Saudi Majlis, including the principles of hospitality, welcoming guests, respectful conversation, and social conduct. The program incorporates interactive activities and practical exercises that encourage participants to practice these values and behaviors in an engaging learning environment
 

Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Understand the concept of the Saudi Majlis, its historical and social significance, and its pivotal role in Saudi society.
  • Differentiate between the traditional customs (Saloom) and etiquette of the Saudi Majlis, and apply them effectively in various social situations and occasions.
  • Master the hospitality skills associated with the Saudi Majlis, including preparing authentic Saudi coffee and the traditional protocols of serving it.
  • Take pride in the values of the Saudi Majlis as an integral part of national cultural identity, and commit to practicing its etiquette and customs in daily life.

Entry requirements 

  • This course is open to individuals aged 12 to 17 years old.
