About the course
Embroidery is prominent in Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage, reflected in traditional clothing, furniture, jewelry, and various aspects of daily life. Saudi embroidery is distinguished by its geographic and cultural diversity, showcasing a variety of artistic expressions.
This course explores traditional embroidery styles from different regions of the Kingdom, including the decorative and stitching techniques used in their creation. Participants will learn to apply various embroidery techniques to produce pieces inspired by traditional motifs. They will complete an independent project.
Outcomes
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Identify traditional costumes and embroidery techniques used in different Saudi regions.
- Safely use traditional hand embroidery tools.
- Apply various embroidery techniques and stitches.
- Design and execute a contemporary product in line with embroidery traditions.

This course is open to those aged 13 to 17 years old.
