Program Overview
The program aims to equip students with fundamental skills and knowledge in traditional Saudi Arabian heritage furniture design and manufacturing processes, covering a broad range of topics in partnership with the Italian university Politecnico di Milano, including
- Understanding Saudi cultural heritage and traditionas related to traditional arts.
- Studying the history and evolution of furniture from ancient times to the modern era.
- Designing interior furniture for various buildings while exploring the traditional arts involved.
- Learning about material technologies, decoration materials, carpentry, and their effective use.
- Training in design thinking fundamentals, creativity techniques, and design analysis.
- Building practical models of traditional furniture using contemporary design techniques that reflect Saudi Arabia’s cultural identity.

Admission requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Arts, Architecture, Engineering, or an equivalent field with a minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 5 (or 2.5 out of 4), or a bachelor’s degree in another field with at least two years of relevant experience.
- Proof of English proficiency with a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent (exemption for those who studied in English).
- Submission of two letters of recommendation from academic professors or professional employers.
- Submission of a portfolio.
- Passing a personal interview.
- Submission of an updated CV/resume.
- Commitment to full-time study attendance and providing employer approval if employed.
